I saw this article over on slashdot http://news.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/06/30/2057217
It was particularly interesting to me to see the same guy for both parties. I think it speaks in part to the type of person Powell is. He’s one of the few people tied to the Bush administration I still genuinely respect. Gabe and I were watching a Frontline episode a few months back and they talked extensively about how Powell was the one dissenting voice of moderate reason within the administration, and how as a result he was increasingly marginalized and pushed to the curb. The guy just seems so much more well grounded than your average politician. By the same token I think there’s no way in hell he’d decide to run for VP. A shame because I think he has the kind of moral integrity the vast majority of politicians lack.
I was bouncing through youtube and found this guy. I know some of you out there won’t dig this guys music. But he does produce all the beats and then jams out to them. The first link I think is his sweetest beat. The cool part is he seems quite genuine and is all about just putting good beats together and then rock out. Reminds me of a young Harry Carey.
Anyone planning to go on the Newport Storm booze cruise this summer? It’s coming up this Saturday (6/28). This has always been an awesome time in past years and I’m down for going again if we can get a decent group to go. For people who haven’t heard of it, basically you ride a ferry to block island and drink cheap drinks on the boat to start the day (dollar drafts of Newport Storm in past years), then go on a bar crawl around block island with the staff from the brewery. $15 round trip for the ferry plus whatever you spend on drinks and food.
George Carlin has died at the age of 71 from heart failure. Here is one of his HBO specials, entitled “Life is worth losing” (NSFW audio).
I need to post this after a ridiculously great week of basketball. Still a little unbelievable that things basically played out exactly as Mike and I had hoped and we got to be at the winning game.
Anyways check this video out
Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett Interview
Can’t wait for next year already, I would say we have a legitimate chance to repeat. L.A. Vs. Boston two years in a row, now that would really be something.
This is great. It comes from everyone’s favorite peeing R&B star R. Kelly. This is not safe for work unless you have head phones. Real Talk ladies and gentlemen.

I don’t have time to summarize this at the moment, but I would appreciate if some other electrical/power/chemical engineers or physicists would look at this. Apparently the Blacklight company has found a way, using an unnamed catalyst, to bring the electron closer to the proton in a hydrogen atom. Obviously if you can create atomic stability at energies below the normal base energy into fractional quantum levels (I know its not supposed to work like that Alexi), energy by definition will be released. They call them hydrinos. Someone smarter than me needs to review the site. They claim to have a 50,000 prototype generator that produces electricity at tenth the cost of coal.
There is a movement out there called The Resistance, headed by a man named Mark Dice. The group is sending 9/11 truth material to our soldiers in Iraq, trying to show that 9/11 was an inside job. Michael Reagan, republican goon and adopted son of Ronald Reagan, hosts a nationally syndicated radio show. On his show, he called for the murder of Mark Dice, in violation of California Penal Code 422. Here is the quote:
“Excuse me folks, I’m going to say this. We ought to find the people who are doing this, take them out and shoot them. Really. You take them out, they are traitors to this country, and shoot them. You have a problem with that? Deal with it. You shoot them. You call them traitors, that’s what they are, and you shoot them dead. I’ll pay for the bullets. How about you take Mark Dice out and put him in the middle of a firing range. Tie him to a post, don’t blindfold him, let it rip and have some fun with Mark Dice.”
Radio America has refused to fire Michael Reagan for making that comment. Anyone remember when Howard Stern, on various occassions, was heavily fined for making off-color jokes? But then when Michael Reagan calls for the murder of Mark Dice, and anybody else supporting the 9/11 truth movement, he doesn’t even get a slap on the wrist? To be fair, Reagan had Dice on his show a few days later where he attempted an apology, however Dice pointed out that Reagan has opened a Pandora’s Box. In an age when people with power are calling for other’s deaths, and you have the internet which makes it easy to look someone up, we should all be concerned. You just can’t call for the murder of someone you disagree with politically. How much more un-American can it get?
Further, there is ZERO mainstream media coverage on this. You can be sure that if anybody inside the 9/11 truth movement called for Reagan’s death, then there would be hell to pay. The phone number for Reagan’s syndication company, Radio America, is 703-302-1000. I suggest that people call asking for Mark Reagan to be fired immediately. I have.
What’s worse is that Reagan got Mark Dice’s youtube account suspended. Dice had hosted an audio clip of the threat, but Reagan’s attorney’s are attempting to file copyright infringement claims, even though it’s clearly covered under fair use laws. In what appears to be an admission of guilt, Reagan also removed that particular hour of his show from his podcast release. So fuck Michael Reagan. He should be fired and arrested for making a death threat on national radio.
Not if you are Scott Loper. He is an American citizen that was imprisoned in Canada and tortured for four years because he discovered a police-run narcotics ring in Ontario. The Canadian government denied that he had even been in the country, not to mention the four year incarceration! THIS is the world we live in folks. WAKE UP. Your government does not care about you. In fact, the US government is complying with Canada’s attempt to sweep this under the rug. Please learn this story and forward to your friends. Possibly it could be covered by the mainstream media forcing the Canadian government to admit its crimes. Anyone ever heard of the Vienna Convention? This is what should have protected Scott. And if our government does not expect Canada to comply with the Vienna Convention, then we can no longer rely on them, and we are all in danger. This needs to come out. I urge you to learn more about this story. Please forward this link to others.
I’m aware of our stances on torture…but I’d be willing to alter my stance for this guy.
Reminds me of a movie “A Time to Kill” a bit.
Every time I think I have heard or read the most ignorant statement that is based solely on the current bi-partisan pissing match that exists in our country, I manage to find another. I was actually pretty happy though to read the comments regarding this and find at least the first few of them negative. Because the prior two websites tend to spin things, go to this site and just read the bottom three headlines (out of 7, the first 4 are about the carbon subject) to get an idea of their other agendas. Sorry for all the links but I just kept getting more and more disgusted as I tried to get to the source of the original website.
Saw this in my inbox. It said to share, so figured I’d post here:

Just found about these yesterday and this morning.

Some people might find this NSFW but it is hilarious.
Also good.
On a more serious note.
